Life Ready Learning for STEAM

Burleson ISD teamed up with engage2learn for the 2016–2017 school year to bring student-oriented learning into the 21st century for its STEAM middle school school.

Burleson ISD teamed up with engage2learn for the 2016 – 2017 school year to bring student-oriented learning into the 21st century for its STEAM middle school school. The Burleson STEAM school administrator sought to establish the school as a truly innovative school experience and provide learners with the tools to be life ready..

Using the engage2learn Blended Learning Framework, Burleson ISD’s STEAM school teachers and leaders received regular one-on-one, individualized coaching opportunities to design learning experiences and to ensure fidelity of implementation for blended learning.

In the 2017-2018 school year, the school invested in a group of specially selected teachers to become school coaches to sustain the support and personalized professional development process and to facilitate the development of a deeply rooted coaching culture at school. The school again partnered with engage2Learn to provide the structure of the eGROWE coaching protocol and individualized support of these school teacher coaches.

As a result of their engage2learn partnership, the school saw increased attendance and a drop in discipline referrals. 2017 Algebra I EOC passing rate at the STEAM school was an astounding 100%. 91.2% of students saw a raw score increase on the STAAR test, thanks to blended learning.
