e2L’s methodologies, training, and coaching are proven to work in both turnaround situations and districts where innovation is the driving force.
Alamo Heights ISD (AHISD) partnered with e2L in 2015. AHISD was in search of an innovative solution that would allow them to provide rich educational experiences in and out of the classroom to realize their profile of a learner. While the district has always focused on excellence, AHISD wanted to prioritize Life Ready Skills and ensure students experienced engaging learning opportunities in every grade.
In early 2016, Alamo Heights gathered a design team of district and campus leaders, curriculum staff, and teachers to collaborate on the design of their Blueprint for Learning.
e2L supports the initiative by training and coaching teachers on research-based best practices. e2L also coaches on the e2L eGROWE© coaching model for nurturing teacher and leader growth. To build sustainability, Alamo Heights shifted their technology integration support team into a team of instructional coaches focused on solid instruction. e2L coached this team on the e2L Coach standards, which would allow them to become self-sustaining as experts in instructional best practices that integrated technology.
Alamo Heights experienced a 5% increase in teacher retention as a result of partnering with e2L. According to the data in TLPI, the increase in teacher retention translates to an annual savings of about $150,000 in hiring/replacement costs alone, which more than pays for coaching. The district also saw blended learning become a reality in its classrooms, integrating technology seamlessly for innovative learning experiences.
