Christie Pride Headshot

Christie Pride

Christie is a certified eGrowe coach with 15 years of education experience. While in the classroom, her focus was strategic literacy instruction for students with reading disabilities, namely dyslexia, and English Language Learners. As a middle school level dyslexia interventionist for Ysleta ISD, she not only served as a classroom teacher, but also as a feeder pattern lead teacher and a districtwide trainer-of-teachers, ensuring students with reading disabilities received proper literacy instruction in every classroom. At the high school level, she served as an ESL teacher for El Paso ISD. Her skillful classroom instruction and desire to help other teachers develop as educators led her to become an instructional coach with a focus on literacy and “biliteracy” in the secondary classroom. Christie focused on helping teachers implement best practices into their daily classroom routines by coaching them one-on-one and facilitating campus and district professional development. She was instrumental in shifting her district and campus into virtual instruction during lockdown, and continues to focus on the evolution of blended learning in the ever evolving classroom environment. Her expertise in literacy instruction earned her a spot on the El Paso ISD Balanced Literacy Committee, where she helped create and roll-out high school balanced literacy instruction. She has also developed district level curriculum writing, where she focused on high school ELAR instruction.
While part of El Paso ISD, Christie worked diligently as an e2L partner over a three year period, where she observed teacher and administrator coaching sessions. Working hand-in-hand with her own e2L coach, Christie was able to fulfill all requirements to become a certified eGrowe coach before coming onboard with engage2learn. She has used the proven e2L coaching method ever since to foster teacher growth.
