Laurie has been a principal for 19 years at the elementary, intermediate, and middle school levels. She began her career in Ector County ISD (Odessa, TX), serving there for 17 years in various teaching and administrative roles for grades K-9 in Title 1 schools. For the past 15 years, Laurie was the intermediate and middle school principal serving over 2200 fifth-eighth graders in Highland Park ISD. She is passionate about building strong relationships and supporting teachers as they implement active, meaningful learning for students in a caring environment that is focused on growth and continuous improvement.

  • Principal of one of the first Texas schools designated as a “School Transforming Learning” 2017
  • School designation by the Anti-Defamation League as a “No Place for Hate School” 2018
  • Honored to have the MIS/HPMS transformed school library dedicated in her name, 2018
