New Orleans Public Schools (NOLA PS) is offering a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in teaching. Whether you're exploring your options or seeking a career change, our NOLA PS Teacher Candidate Program, in partnership with engage2learn, is designed to ensure new teachers receive the support, guidance, and resources to excel in the classroom.
- Competitive Base Pay: $50,000 for uncertified w/ Bachelor’s. $57,509 for Certified w/ Bachelor’s

- Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL): Additionally, employees have the option to contribute to 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans.

In addition to the support NOLA-PS provides all teachers, new teachers hired through the NOLA-PS Teacher Candidate Program receive ongoing support from engage2learn, a renowned national teacher support company. engage2learn provides candidates with access to its national teacher support network throughout their first year, offering ongoing coaching, guidance, and resources to set them up for a successful career in teaching.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- No Provisional Certification or teaching license is required to get started!
- Commitment to employment by New Orleans Public Schools
- Submit the form showing interest in becoming a teaching candidate.
- Receive an email and/or phone call from an engage2learn representative
- Attend an engage2learn information session listed in the introduction email
- Sign an MOU to agree to employment by New Orleans Public Schools
- Take or retake the necessary Praxis exams (your only cost for this program)
