Dr. Dawson Orr has served as a leadership coach for principals and district leaders in high performance districts.
It has been his privilege to facilitate and collaborate with other e2L colleagues in the development of learning frameworks that provide strategic guidance to learning organizations seeking to create a culture of high performance and engagement.
Dawson’s primary work has been with ESC 11 in the development of a learning framework to guide all professional development and training. He has also worked with Mesquite ISD in the development of a learning design and executive coaching for a district-wide K-3 literacy initiative.
His professional experience spans 40 years as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and college professor. Dawson was privileged to serve as co-chair of the Texas High Performance Consortium and worked with superintendents across the state to promote district transformation for the benefit of students.
His own academic preparation includes a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Master of Arts in School Leadership from the University of Alabama.
Dawson’s Ph.D. is from the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated from the Cooperative Superintendency program.
Dawson brings a deep commitment to the education and well-being of children that has been formed by 40 years of dedicated work of working to improve and transform schools from bureaucratic institutions to adaptive learning organizations.
