Background & Experience
Kammi brings fourteen years of public education experience across a wide range of leadership roles, giving her a grounded, practical perspective on what it takes to transform teaching and learning at every level of a system.
She began her career in the classroom, teaching junior high math in Victoria ISD and Bryan ISD before earning her Master's in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University and transitioning into instructional leadership as a Professional Development Specialist in Bryan ISD. In that role, she focused on curriculum design, instructional delivery, and professional learning work that laid the foundation for her systems-thinking approach to school improvement.
Kammi then joined Anderson-Shiro CISD, where she held progressively more senior roles: Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Executive Director of Instruction and Accountability, Assistant Superintendent, and Interim Superintendent. During that time, she spearheaded the implementation of a Human Capital Management system through a multi-faceted approach, including the Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) Grant and a District Stakeholder Working Group, demonstrating her ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with lasting impact.
Following her tenure in Anderson-Shiro, Kammi returned to Bryan ISD as Director of Curriculum and Instruction, where she implemented the Capturing Kids' Hearts EXCEL Teaching Model and designed a K-12 RTI program.
Beyond her district work, Kammi has contributed to statewide education initiatives, collaborating with leaders across Texas through a TASA committee to design the New Vision Implementation Matrix, and serving on both the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium and the TIF Grant cohort. These experiences reflect her longstanding commitment to transforming teaching and learning, not just locally, but at scale.
