Summer’s passion is education; teachers, students and all who are invested in the process! During her 19 years in public education, Summer established herself as a student and teacher advocate in her buildings and districts. Beginning her career at a Title 1 elementary school prepared her for many of the experiences she would encounter throughout her career. As a middle school 7th and 8th grade ELA teacher, Summer participated in building and districtwide initiatives including new teacher mentorships, district level leadership and curriculum and instruction teams that impacted both students and educators. She was a part of pilot programs for professional development, technology integration as well as community outreach and SEL programs. From her work in multiple Texas schools, Summer brings a wealth of knowledge to the e2L team. Summer has worked with English learners, high-risk, special needs and accelerated students, focusing on differentiation to meet all needs.
