Ayona Dixon is a Certified engage2learn Data-Informed Growth Coach. Ayona uses data-driven coaching to help educators set goals, identify growth needs, and receive constructive, actionable feedback on their performance, and uses data to track progress and connect coaching directly to stronger teacher capacity and student performance.
Ayona brings 9 years of K-12 experience. After teaching middle school reading in Houston ISD (2018–2020) and Irving ISD (2020–2021), Ayona was a Reading Interventionist in Duncanville ISD from 2021 to 2023. In DeSoto ISD, Ayona was an Instructional Coach (2023–2024) and then an Academic Facilitator (2024–2026), coaching teachers and leaders through structured, evidence-based feedback cycles, designing and monitoring curriculum implementation, and facilitating district professional learning for teachers and principals on HQIM and TEKS deconstruction.
Ayona is completing a Doctorate of Business Administration at Bellevue University, with graduation expected in March 2027, and holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ayona’s Texas certifications include Principal as Instructional Leader, English Language Arts and Reading 4-8, and ESL Supplemental 4-8, and Ayona is a Google Educator.
“With the rise in novice teachers and ongoing teacher shortages, my mission is to build educators’ capacity and desire to remain in the field,” Ayona says. “Having served in Title I schools, I believe every scholar deserves access to high-quality education, which starts with strong, supported teachers and leaders.”
