Step 01 of the cycle · Diagnose

Assessments & SoftwareName the skills behind the gap before anyone coaches them.

Four research-validated diagnostics, each reading a different layer of your district: the classroom, the school community, the coach and the coaching program. GroweLab carries what they find into the plan and the coaching, and tracks each teacher’s classroom practice as it improves.

The four diagnostics

Four instruments, one for each layer of the gap.

A student-outcome gap is never one thing. It lives in what happens in classrooms, in how a school community experiences its schools, in how well coaches coach, and in whether the coaching system supports them. Each diagnostic measures one of those layers, with a named research base behind it.

Where to start

Bring us your question, and we’ll match the diagnostic to it.

Our most impactful partnerships begin with one assessment. It names the skills everything after it is built around, and the next turn of the cycle adds the others as the questions change.

  1. If you’re thinkingWhich teaching practices should our coaches focus on? Start withThe Tripod 7Cs Assessment
  2. If you’re thinkingWe are writing a strategic plan and need every voice in it. Start withThe Data Triangle
  3. If you’re thinkingWe invest heavily in coaching. Is it working? Start withThe Coaching Effectiveness Assessment
  4. If you’re thinkingOur coaching program exists, but practice is not changing. Start withThe Coaching System Assessment
  5. If you’re thinkingWe can see the gap, but not where it starts. Start withA conversation. We’ll recommend the first assessment.
The software

Where what you found becomes what you can see.

An assessment names the skills, and the software keeps them in view: in the plan, in every coaching log and walkthrough, and in the report a board reads at the end of the year.

ReadyLab

Makes your Portrait of a Graduate measurable. Students learn the durable, employability skills it names, demonstrate them with authentic evidence, and earn credential-quality badges they can share.

  1. Learn the skill
  2. Demonstrate it with real work
  3. Earn a shareable badge

Skill reports align to Perkins V and CCMR indicators, so readiness is something a district can show.

What happens next

A diagnosis is where a partnership begins.

engage2learn is the only partner offering both validated diagnostic assessments and coaching with public ESSA evidence. What the assessment names becomes the design of the plan and the target of the coaching, inside your schools, this year.

FAQ

Questions leaders ask.

What assessments does engage2learn offer?

engage2learn offers four diagnostics: the Tripod 7Cs Assessment, in which students rate their own classroom; the Data Triangle, which asks students, staff and families the same questions; the Coaching Effectiveness Assessment, which measures coaches against six essential coaching actions; and the Coaching System Assessment, which assesses the coaching program against Jim Knight’s Seven Success Factors.

Which assessment should a district start with?

Start with the question you need answered. To aim coaching at specific teaching practices, start with the Tripod 7Cs Assessment; to bring every voice into a strategic plan, the Data Triangle; to find out whether coaching is working, the Coaching Effectiveness Assessment; to see why a coaching program is not changing practice, the Coaching System Assessment. Most partnerships begin with one short assessment, not a pilot. A district can also begin elsewhere in the cycle, with a plan, coaching or the Network, and add an assessment later.

Do these assessments judge individual teachers?

No. They assess the system behind a student-outcome gap and the specific skills that would move it. Teacher-level results are written to open a coaching conversation, not to hand down a score.

Can the assessments be used together?

Yes. Each measures a different layer, the classroom, the school community, the coach and the coaching program, so districts often add a second as the next question arrives.

What is GroweLab?

GroweLab is engage2learn’s platform for professional learning management, walkthroughs and observations, coaching logs, implementation and strategic-plan tracking, a resource library and reporting. It replaces 3 to 6 other professional learning tools, and its AI drafts feedback under human review.

What is ReadyLab?

ReadyLab is engage2learn’s student-facing platform for measuring a district’s Portrait of a Graduate: the durable, employability skills it has named. Students learn each skill, demonstrate it with authentic evidence and earn credential-quality badges, with skill reports aligned to Perkins V and CCMR indicators.

Are the surveys available in Spanish?

Yes. The Data Triangle is available in Spanish and additional languages, so families can take part in the language they read best.

How do districts fund engage2learn assessments?

Districts commonly use Title I needs-assessment and family-engagement funds, Title II, Part A teacher-development funds, school-improvement and strategic-planning budgets and, in Texas, the Teacher Incentive Allotment. ReadyLab is often funded through Perkins V and CCMR budgets.
