Make the adoption stick.
Strong materials, a board vote, a training day, and by spring every school is using them differently. Instead, engage2learn helps you set the vision before materials, designs the systems around them with your team, then coaches alongside your educators for a full year so the adoption becomes how teaching works.
Four places an adoption loses ground, and what closes each one.
The materials are rarely the problem; adoptions lose ground in the gaps between milestones.
- The vote Where it slips
Materials are chosen before anyone agrees on what great instruction looks like.
What closes itVision first: what great instruction looks like, set before selection.
HQIM Planning & Design - Materials arrive Where it slips
Nothing around the materials changes: PLCs, walkthroughs and data routines stay as they were.
What closes itSystems designed around the materials before teachers open the boxes.
HQIM Planning & Design - Training day Where it slips
One publisher training in August, then teachers adapt alone.
What closes itA full year of coaching on the units teachers are teaching.
HQIM Implementation - Classrooms Where it slips
Implementation drifts school by school, and nobody sees it until the scores.
What closes itWalkthroughs and coaching data that show drift as it happens.
GroweLab - Year two
Five rungs down, from uneven classrooms to a year of coaching.
Scroll down the ladder: from the outcome you see to the skill behind it, and back up to how you’ll know it moved.
From the outcome to the skill behind it
- The outcome you see
Strong materials, uneven classrooms.
The adoption passed and the materials arrived. By spring, every school is using them differently, and the results follow the differences.
- What the diagnosis looks at
How the materials are actually being used.
Walkthroughs and the Tripod 7Cs Assessment show what instruction looks like with the new materials, from the teacher’s side and the student’s.
- The plan
Vision first, then the systems around the materials.
HQIM Planning & Design helps your team set what great instruction looks like before selection, then designs with you the PLC, walkthrough and data systems that make an adoption hold. Typically a semester to a year.
- The coaching
A full year of coaching on the materials.
HQIM Implementation coaches alongside teachers on the units they are teaching and works with leaders on what to look for, all year rather than one August training.
- How you’ll know it moved
Implementation you can see, school by school.
Walkthrough and coaching data in GroweLab show where implementation holds and where to send coaching next.
engage2learn’s coaching carries ESSA Tier 2 / Tier 3 evidence.

From design to execution, with one partner.
Channelview ISD designed its instructional framework with engage2learn, then kept the same partner to coach it into classrooms.
Their approach emphasizes capacity-building rather than compliance. They work alongside our leaders and teachers to ensure the systems we are building are sustainable and owned internally.
“Engage2learn continued to partner with Channelview ISD as we moved from design to execution. Training our K–5 teachers on RBIS practices to strengthen Tier 1 instruction; Working with campus leaders to support effective implementation of the ELA Instructional Framework; Providing guidance to ensure alignment between professional learning, instructional expectations, and accountability goals”

Design the adoption, then coach it.
HQIM adoption draws on two steps of the cycle: designing the vision and systems, and coaching a full year on the materials.

Questions leaders ask.
What goes wrong after an adoption, even with strong materials?
Most adoptions lose ground after the materials arrive: one publisher training, then teachers adapt alone, and implementation drifts school by school. Strong materials still need a shared vision of instruction, systems around them and coaching through the first year.
Do you favor a publisher?
No. engage2learn favors no publisher or curriculum. It helps you set the vision and run the selection, and designs the systems and coaching around whichever high-quality materials your district chooses. engage2learn is an approved Rivet Education provider, through its three-gateway review.
How do design and implementation fit together?
Design comes first and implementation follows it. HQIM Planning & Design sets the vision and the systems, typically over a semester to a year; HQIM Implementation then coaches teachers and leaders on the materials through a full school year.
We have already adopted. Is it too late?
No. A district can start with HQIM Implementation after the adoption, and design work can fill in the systems the rollout skipped. The first step is a look at how the materials are being used today.
Make this adoption the one that sticks.
