Accessibility

Accessibility statement

engage2learn is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We hold this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What the site does

Built in from the start.

Accessibility is part of how each page on this site is designed and built.

  • Keyboard first

Every menu, tab, filter and link works from the keyboard, with a visible focus ring and a link to skip straight to the content.

  • Motion you control

If your device asks for reduced motion, every animation on the site stops, and every scroll story shows its finished state at once.

  • Readable without script

Every page reads in full, and every link works, without JavaScript. Scripts only add motion and convenience.

  • Contrast and type

Colors come from one set of design tokens chosen to meet contrast minimums: 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text.

  • Words for every picture

Photographs carry text alternatives, and diagrams and illustrations are described in words beside them or in a text label.

  • Structure you can navigate

Pages use real headings, lists and landmarks, so screen readers and other assistive tools can move through them quickly.

Known limitations

Where we are still working.

  • Some resources link to documents and pages on our earlier website, which may not yet meet the same standard. We are moving them across.
  • Some downloadable PDFs predate this site and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Ask, and we will help you get what is in them.
  • Pages and tools from other organizations that we link to follow their own accessibility practices.
Report a barrier

Tell us what got in your way.

If any part of this site is hard to use, tell us the page and what happened, and we will work to fix it and get you the information another way in the meantime.
