Planning & Design · HQIM Planning & Design

HQIM Planning & DesignChoose the materials once. Build the systems that make them work.

Materials alone don’t move outcomes, and publisher support is tied to one product. We help you set the instructional vision before anyone opens a sample box, run a selection teachers have a voice in, and design the PLC, walkthrough and data systems that make the adoption hold.

Vision before materials

Four stations, in a fixed order.

Scroll down the track. Selection stays locked until the vision is set.

  1. Station 1 · Vision

Decide what great instruction looks like before anyone opens a sample box.

Leaders, teachers and community set the instructional vision first. Then the materials are chosen to serve it.

  2. Station 2 · Selection

    A selection process teachers trust.

Criteria that go beyond alignment, a pre-screen to a short list, independent reviews and state criteria, and a real voice for teachers in the final choice. The district makes that choice; we guide the process with you.

  3. Station 3 · Systems

Design the systems that make the materials work.

PLC and lesson-internalization structures, calibrated walkthrough and feedback routines, and data and progress-monitoring practices, so leaders can support the materials every week.

  4. Station 4 · Roadmap

A multi-year roadmap with owners and milestones.

A realistic implementation plan, housed in GroweLab, with milestones and ownership for every year of the rollout. HQIM Implementation picks it up from there.

HQIM design is typically a semester-to year-long process.

The metric that counts

A full compliance checklist can hide flat mastery.

An adoption can hit every compliance box and still leave instruction unchanged. The systems we design with you measure what the materials were bought for.

Compliance Every box checked
  • Materials distributed
  • Pacing guide followed
  • Training attended
Mastery What students can do
  • Student work against the standard
  • Teaching quality on calibrated walkthroughs
  • Growth, school by school

Compliance is the wrong metric for success. Student mastery and teacher excellence are the goals.

HQIM design is typically a semester-to year-long process; HQIM Implementation then coaches teachers for a full year.

Engage2learn also partnered with us to design an ELA Instructional Framework tailored specifically to Channelview ISD. This work involved structured planning sessions, facilitated meetings, research-based strategies, and alignment with our district’s strategic needs and priorities.

Where this sits in the cycle

Design the systems, then coach inside them.

HQIM Planning & Design is the design step for an adoption. It hands a vision, a selection and a set of leader systems to the year of coaching that makes the materials work.

FAQ

Questions leaders ask.

Do you favor any publisher or curriculum?

No. HQIM Planning & Design is materials-agnostic: engage2learn helps you set the vision, guides the selection with your teachers, and designs the systems with you around whichever high-quality materials your district chooses.

Why does an adoption fail even when we pick strong materials?

Materials alone don’t move outcomes; success depends on the systems built around them. Without lesson internalization in PLCs, calibrated walkthroughs and data routines, strong materials are covered rather than taught well.

How long does the design process take?

HQIM design is typically a semester-to year-long process. The implementation that follows is a multi-year process.

We already picked our curriculum. Is it too late?

No. The systems design matters most after the choice is made: PLC and internalization structures, walkthrough and feedback routines, data practices and a multi-year roadmap. It can start wherever your adoption stands.

Where does this end and HQIM Implementation begin?

HQIM Planning & Design sets the vision, runs the selection and designs the systems and roadmap. HQIM Implementation then coaches alongside teachers for a full year as they learn to teach the materials well, inside those systems.

Is engage2learn vetted for this work?

Yes. engage2learn is an approved Rivet Education provider after a three-gateway review of content expertise, professional-learning design quality and use of data.
