She has served as an elementary school teacher, school instructional coordinator, assistant principal, and principal. Her love for teaching reading bloomed after becoming a certified reading specialist in Louisiana. Melanie’s work has led her to be a part of turnaround schools that were removed from failing status after one school year, which deepened her commitment to excellence for all students.
